Taking care of houseplants is so much easier when you have the right tools. Over time, I’ve found a few simple accessories that make a big difference, especially when it comes to repotting, watering, and keeping my houseplants healthy. These are some of my favorite houseplant tools and accessories from Amazon that make plant care easier and more enjoyable.

A small gardening tool set is one of the most useful things to have if you keep houseplants. It usually comes with a hand shovel, mini rake, and other small tools that make repotting, loosening soil, and planting much easier. The smaller size works perfectly for indoor plants and smaller pots, so you’re not struggling with big outdoor tools. It also helps keep everything neat and more controlled when you’re working inside. If you’re just starting out or growing your plant collection, a simple tool set makes plant care quicker and a lot less messy.
A repotting mat is one of those simple tools that makes plant care so much easier, especially if you repot indoors. It keeps soil, water, and loose roots contained so you’re not constantly cleaning up a mess on your table or floor. Most repotting mats are waterproof and have snap corners that turn the mat into a small tray, which makes it perfect for repotting, propagating, or even mixing soil. It’s especially helpful if you live in an apartment or don’t have an outdoor space, because you can repot your plants quickly and clean everything up in seconds.
A moss pole is a great tool for helping climbing houseplants grow the way they’re meant to. Plants like pothos, monsteras, and philodendrons naturally grow upward, and a moss pole gives them the support they need to grow taller and look fuller. It can also help the leaves grow bigger over time because the plant has something to attach to as it climbs. It’s especially helpful if you want your plants to look more full and structured instead of growing long and trailing everywhere. A simple moss pole can make a big difference in both the health and appearance of your plants.
A plant support stake is also available if you don’t want to use a moss pole. They are more discreat and stackable. I’ve used both with no issue so it’s a matter of preference on how you want your plant to look. I do think the moss poles are sturdier but the plant support stakes are less vissible.
Microfiber dusting gloves are such an easy way to keep your houseplants clean and healthy. Dust can build up on leaves over time and block the light your plants need, so gently wiping the leaves every now and then really helps them grow better. These gloves make it simple because you can just slip them on and lightly wipe each leaf without damaging it. They’re especially helpful for plants with larger leaves like monsteras and rubber plants, and they also make the whole process quicker and less messy than using paper towels or cloths.
Propagation stations are a great way to expand your garden. I’ve purchased several different versions that best suit different parts of my home. I sometimes leave the plant cuttings in there because I love watching the roots grow.
Plant labels/tags are very useful if you have a hard time telling certain plants apart. Let’s be honest, some of these plants look identical. I’ve had several philodendrons and pothos I couldn’t tell apart unless I looked at the plant tag. I’ve also used them for seed starting as well if you like to grow herbs or small gardens.
Plant trays are a must have for my indoor garden. They help minimize water spill and mess from watering my plants. Before I used plant trays I was having to walk my plants back and forth to the bath tub so I wasn’t making a mess. I was a rookie but we all got to start somewhere!
Plant stands are very useful for organizing and showcasing your plants. They also make your indoor garden look beautiful. There are some with built in grow lights adding an extra bonus.
Sticky traps are one of the easiest ways to deal with fungus gnats, especially if you keep houseplants indoors. They catch the adult gnats before they can lay more eggs in the soil, which helps stop the problem from getting worse. If you have several plants, these can make a big difference in keeping everything healthy and gnat-free.
You can also add cute accessories to your plants to give them extra life. I’ve listed my favorite decorative plant accessories if you’re like me and love plant decorations.
